Warranted 1827 • Universities Scheme (Bangor University)

St David's Lodge No. 384

St David's Freemasons Lodge was founded in 1827 in Bangor, making it the oldest existing Lodge in north Wales. Thomas Telford's Menai Suspension Bridge was completed just one year earlier. This is a traditional Lodge drawing membership from the local population and more recently students, former students and staff at Bangor University, who make up a significant proportion of the term-time population. In 2016, St David's Lodge was granted Universities Scheme status by the United Grand Lodge of England. This is a great privilege and will more readily enable applications for membership from alumni, staff and students of further and higher education.
